National Round Table 1 & National Round Table 2

The MycoTWIN National Round Table Meeting-1, titled “Mycotoxin Management for Nut Value Chain in Turkey“, and MycoTWIN National Round Table Meeting-2, titled “Mycotoxin Management for Dried Fruit Value Chain in Turkey“ were organized online in Turkey on 25th August and 28th August 2023 respectively. Experts from all over Turkey participated to these events to discuss the current situation, risks/needs from pre-harvest to post-harvest period, and impact of risk minimisation strategies on mycotoxin contamination of crops (nuts and dried fruits) as the key domains of MycoTWIN.

The three main topics for both of two round tables were:

  1. Risks at pre-harvest stage
  2. Risks at harvest stage
  3. Risks at post-harvest stage

To increase the impact of the meeting and to provide maximum benefit for TUBITAK, besides the researchers of TUBITAK MRC, external experts were invited from different regions of Turkey to both of two round tables. Participants (27 in Meeting-1, 39 in Meeting-2) with different expertise on nuts and dried fruits from academia, industry (processors, chamber of commerce/exchange), ministry (decision makers, regional directorates) and research institutes joined the both of two round tables.
